Los Gatos Parent Nursery School is nestled in a quiet Victorian-era neighborhood adjacent to downtown Los Gatos. The current school building was erected in 1968 by LGPNS parents. Within the facility are 1,165 square feet of open, well-lighted classroom space. Inside the classroom area are a playhouse/dress-up area, puppet stage, art/craft area, an extensive library, animals, musical instruments, a doll house, blocks and a multitude of other manipulative games and toys. Our playground, affectionately deemed "Kid's Kingdom" by the parents and volunteers who erected it in 1998, is a great source of pride for the school - and delight for the children. In fact, LGPNS children were active participants in the design and construction of the playground. Outdoor play at LGPNS runs the gamut: climbing, sliding, exploring, gardening, daydreaming, riding and "gassing up" tricycles, strolling with "babies," building sand cities, reading, carpentry, playing ball, and even playing music on a set of outdoor chimes. Whether it be through exploring the spectacular castle structure, or pumping water through the cobbled water-play area, the 5,400 square feet of playground space provides ample opportunity for children to discover and learn through play.
